Our food system heavily depends on bees. One in every three bites of food depends on bees for pollination. As a restaurant group focused on Latin cuisine, bees are important as they are major pollinators of the agave plant and avocados.
Maya is hosting an intimate 3-course Viva Abejas Dinner Experience on Thursday, April 18th at 7 PM. Proceeds from the ticket sales of the dinner will benefit the World Bee Foundation and book donations to local Title I schools in the Manhattan area.
This one-night-only event features the bee-centric campaign collection, as well as vibrant drink pairings, including our Coconut Ceviche: tuna - coconut milk red onion - mint - radish cucumber - avocado fresno chili - toasted coconut orange blossom honey. Entrées including Duck Confit Tacos: duck confit - agave honey cilantro - romesco sauce pickled vegetable - cilantro blue corn tortilla, & sweet delights like our Honey Vanilla Cheesecake: using locally sourced New York State honey.
